Professional arrangements are entrusted to Barnes Funeral Home, LLC, 4120 S. Hathaway Boulevard, Sharpsburg, NC. Mother Luberta Powell was a Masonry Construction Supervisor for over 40 years. During her leisure time, she enjoyed fishing. Mother Powell was preceded in death by her father James E. Coles; mother Geneva Atkinson; and husband. She leaves to cherish her legacy her daughter Delores Powell of Greensboro, GA; a son and daughter-in-law Charles Powell (Avery) of Rocky Mount, NC; two brothers, Calvin Coles and Melvin Holmes; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Public Viewing occurs on Friday, June 3, 2022, from 3:00 - 6:00 PM at Barnes Funeral Home, LLC, 4120 S. Hathaway Boulevard, Sharpsburg, NC. The funeral service occurs on Saturday, June 4, 2022, for Mother Luberta C. Powell at the Union Primitive Baptist Association Center (Low Level Primitive Baptist Church), 2216 Lynch Street, Fountain, NC.
