Mr. Raymond "Pete" Lewis

Mr. Raymond "Pete" Lewis, age 68 of Farmville, NC, departed this life Saturday, January 22, 2022. He was born May 2, 1953 to the late Eliga Lewis and Maggie Peterson in Enfield, NC. Under the watchful eyes of his mother, Maggie and stepfather, Samuel Pierce, Raymond moved and grew up in Greenville,NC. Raymond graduated from W H Robinson High School. In the 1970s, Raymond established himself as a valuable employee and leader at Worthington Farms, Inc. until his death. Raymond, was also known as "Pete" to his family and all his close friends, and if you really knew him you may call him “Spike”. Pete had a joy for life, with hobbies like driving his Bobcat, watching drag racing, singing in anybody’s choir, and being well dressed. He was the (KING OF SUITS). PERIOD. Pete was a member for several years of the Warren Chapel United American Free Will Baptist Church, Inc. under the pastoral care of Eldress Betty J. Haddock (Eulogist). Raymond was preceded in death by two sons, Gregory Langley and Jermaine Cherry. Raymond is survived by one son; Timothy Crandall, four daughters; Latisha Godard (Antonio), Vernisha Tolliver (Alfonso), Alicia Griffin, (Charlie), Shawana Lewis, two sisters; Clarabelle Brown and Sarah Hines, six brothers; Elijah Clay, Orlando Lewis, James Peterson, Roy Peterson, Samuel Pierce, and Orah Pierce, Thirteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
